White Oak Pastures

White Oak Pastures is a family-owned and operated producer of Step 5+ grassfed beef, pastured pork, pastured chicken, and pastured turkey. We were one of the first farms in the U.S. to receive GAP certification for beef production, participating in the pilot program in 2010. We also raise grassfed sheep and goats, as well as pastured guineas, ducks, geese, rabbits, and laying hens.

White Oak Pastures values its relationship with Global Animal Partnership. We appreciate that the tiered rating system recognizes advanced methods of allowing animals to express their behavior. A "pass or fail" only system limits recognition of good animal welfare to the lowest common denominator. For online shoppers and others who can't visit our farm in person, the GAP label helps assure our customers of our good animal welfare practices.

Our animals spend their entire lives roaming our lush pastures and eating sweet grasses, as nature intended. We utilize the Serengeti Rotational Grazing Model, rotating large ruminants, followed by small ruminants, followed by birds throughout our pastures. All of our animals roam freely and breed naturally; they never set foot on concrete until the day of processing. As much as we are committed to providing our animals with a peaceful, healthy life, we are committed to offering them a humane and dignified death. We are the only farm in the United States that has both red meat and white meat abattoirs on the property. Our plant, designed by Temple Grandin, is focused on keeping our animals at ease.

Our farm also offers 60+ varieties of certified organic produce, pastured eggs, artisan goods, on-site lodging, dining and educational workshops
